Cynthia Ann Bates, age 71, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away on Oct. 25, 2024, at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama.

A life celebration will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, at Washington Street Church of Christ with Bro. Charles Abernathy and Bro. Jim Black officiating. Burial will follow in the Stewart Cemetery. There will be no visitation prior to the service.

Cindy was born on Aug.27, 1953, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late Roy Davis and Alice Love Patrick Davis. She was a member of the Washington Street Church of Christ, Alabama School Library Association, and the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Known as “Grammy,” she delighted in showering her grandchildren with gifts and boxes of chocolates. Cindy had a passion for sewing, quilting, and reading.

Survivors include her husband, Troy Bates; daughters, Alicia (Tim) Schafer, and Amanda Bates; grandchildren, Ryan (Sara Beth) Holt, Arya Schafer, and Carter Schafer; great-grandson, Reese Holt; sisters, Constance Davis, and Caren Davis; brothers, Roy (Deborah) Davis, and Patrick (Melanie) Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
