Harold Douglas Owen Obituary
Harold Douglas Owen, 88, of Ardmore, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at Hospice Family Care of Huntsville Hospital on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024. It is with great regret that we announce the passing of Mr. Owen.
He was born Nov. 16, 1935, to Grover C. and Lillie Sue Bryan Owen. He married Jeannette Cole Owen Feb. 24, 1962.
He was a member of New Grove Baptist Church. He was a dairy farmer, Lincoln County Farm Bureau director, Lincoln County Farmers Co-op director, and he performed at Ardmore Pickin’ and Grinnin’. He also served in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette; his parents, Grover C. and Lillie Sue Owen; brother, Donald Owen; sister, Joanne Owen White; and nephew, Dusty Owen. He is survived by his sons, David (Mitzi) Owen of Ardmore, Tennessee, Doug (Leanne) Owen of Nashville, Tennessee, and Dan (Charlotte) Owen of Taft, Tennessee; grandchildren, Heather Bevel, Derrick (Kelsey), Claire, Carter, Cooper, Jana, Clay, and Sarah Ryley Owen; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024 at Ardmore Funeral Home with Brother Roger Berry and Brother Drew Smith officiating. Graveside services followed at Blanche Cemetery. The pallbearers were sons, David, Doug, and Dan Owen; grandsons, Carter, Cooper, and Clay Owen; nephew, Dwayne Owen; and friend, Jackie Owens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Lincoln County Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom and New Grove Baptist Church.
