Doris Juanita Grissom Obituary

Doris Juanita Grissom, 84, of Petersburg, Tennessee, passed from this life on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024, at Donalson Care Center in Fayetteville, Tennessee.

A native of Lincoln County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mable Smith Hopkins. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Grissom, one brother, Luther Hopkins, and three sisters, Mary Frances Draper, Jean Parks, and Loretta Nichols.  Funeral services were held Monday, March 4, 2024, at Lynchburg Funeral Home with burial following at Old Orchard Cemetery in Petersburg.

Juanita was of the Baptist faith, and she loved her family and enjoyed spending as much time with them as she could.  She loved to cook and took pride in teaching her grandchildren how to cook also. Juanita enjoyed fishing and going to concerts. She loved country music and Conway Twitty was probably her all- time favorite singer. She was a breast cancer survivor and was one of the biggest hearted people you would ever meet. She never met a stranger and took great joy in helping others. Her survivors include three sons, Ronald Wayne (Lynn) Grissom of Cornersville, Tennessee, Dane Jackson (Angela) Grissom of Fayetteville, Tennessee, and William Lane (Delane) Grissom of Lewisburg, Tennessee.  Juanita is also survived by eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
