Paul David Shelton Sr., 81, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away Friday, Jan. 19, 2024, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan, 24, 2024, at Higgins Funeral Home, with Bro. Eddie Graves officiating. Burial will follow in the Lincoln Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service at Higgins Funeral Home.

Paul was born on Oct. 5, 1942, at home in Lincoln County, Tennessee, to the late George Hamilton Shelton and Mary Jane Pickett Shelton. Mr. Shelton was a 1960 graduate of Central High School and a member of the Vanntown Baptist Church. He worked for United Circuits (formerly Twin Tech). Paul owned and operated Paul Shelton Stable training and riding Harness Racing Horses.

Survivors include his children, Bill (Robin) Shelton, Diane (Rick) Tate, Denise (Wayne) Roland, P.D. (Londa) Shelton; grandchildren, George Shelton, Traci Shelton, Jenni Collins (Trent Brown), Ryan (Candace) Tate, Travis (Julie) Tate, Christi (Matt) Haney, Kelsey (Jeremy) Taylor, Phil (DeWayna) Shelton, Callie Shelton (Jordan) Hedges, Jamie Russell, Kayla (Nick) Sutton, and Logan Hipp; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Wolaver Shelton.
