Mickey Wayne Buchanan, 69, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023, at Bailey Manor in Fayetteville.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Ron Arrick and Brian Gass officiating. Burial followed at Unity Cemetery.

Mickey was born June 15, 1954, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, to the late Tully and Inez Currin Buchanan. He worked at Eagle Snacks but lived his life as a farmer. Mickey played softball at Howell in his younger years and was known for his speed. He loved UT Vols sports and talking with his friends at Fritz’s Market. He was a member of the Howell First Baptist Church, and Mickey’s life was just like his personality, quiet and simple.

Survivors include cousins, Zeldra Buchanan, Josh (Jenny) Buchanan, Christy (Eric) Curtis, Terry (Brenda) Buchanan, Amber (Nathan) Massey, Gloria (Doug) Armstrong, Linda (Delton) Ashby, and Randy (Terry) Warren; and extended family members and friends. Mickey was preceded in death by his parents, Tully and Inez Buchanan.
