James Richard ‘Jim’ Coleman, 78, of Petersburg, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023, at Donalson Care Center. He was born Nov. 8, 1945, in Nashville, Tennessee. Survivors include his wife of 57 ½ years: Peggy Sue Armstrong Coleman; nephews: Ricky Lee Hudson and Mickey Lee Hudson; niece: Glenda Michelle McCullough; and special cousin: Ann Carter of Nolensville, Tennessee. He worked in construction for many years before he began working for Cumberland Heights Drug and Alcohol Rehab in Davison County, Tennessee. He retired from there on Sept. 11, 2001. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Edmond Coleman and Maudy Mae Frances ‘Mary’ Harville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his siblings, Dorothy Minnie Lou Odom, Robert Leroy ‘John’ Coleman, and Linda Sue Hudson and his parents-in-law, Van and Virginia Tate. Honorary pallbearers were Danny Dodson, Michael Dodson, Kevin Dodson, Chris Dodson, Nathan Dodson, and Jerry Williams. A private burial was held on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
