Mark Blackwelder, 75, of Fayetteville, Tennessee passed away Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023.

Graveside service for Mr. Blackwelder will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 24, 2023, at Old Orchard Cemetery with and Bro. Jason Caldwell officiating. A Masonic service will follow the visitation at noon at Higgins Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.

Mark was born Sept. 15, 1948, in Lauderdale County, Alabama, to the late Rev. M.O. and Margaret Qualls Blackwelder. Mark was a construction supervisor. Mark loved the outdoors and time fishing with his friends and family and was a member of the sportsman club, a member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of the Park City Baptist Church.

Mark is survived by his son, Mark Blackwelder Jr. of Fayetteville; bonus daughter, Vangie Holsted of Manchester, Tennessee; sister, Janice (Charles) White of New Market, Alabama; brothers, David (Cindy) Blackwelder of Mulberry, and Murray (Carla) Blackwelder of Fayetteville; bonus grandchildren, Breann and Blaine Holsted.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Carol Blackwelder.
