Hue Gordon Counts Obituary
Hue Gordon Counts died peacefully at Donalson Care Center on Oct. 8, 2023, in Fayetteville, Tennessee.
Hue is survived by his wife, Karen Elaine Counts; his children, Michael Hue (Donna) Counts and Phyllis Lynn (Craig) Carlisle; his grandchildren, Riley James Cagle, Jordan Michael Counts, Ryan Hue Cagle and Samantha Fay Counts; his siblings, Martha Jean (Richard) McGee and Danny Loyd Counts.
Hue is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Clifford Counts and Martha Irie Welch Counts; and his brothers, Joe Thomas Counts and Billy Wayne Counts.
Hue was born on Feb. 1, 1943, in Flintville, Tennessee. He graduated from Flintville High School in 1961. After high school, he began working at Serbin Fashions in Fayetteville and later went to work for S.J. King Studio taking pictures. Hue later purchased a franchise from School Pictures, Inc. which subsequently became Hue Counts Photography. After 35 years of shooting pictures throughout Middle Tennessee, Hue retired but remained a consultant and salesman for LifeTouch Photography as well as a salesman for Walters Publishing Company.
During this time, Hue was an active member of Jaycees and the Lincoln County Sportsman Club as fishing was one of his greatest passions. He also served as a board of director for Lincoln County Bank, North Alabama Bank and Bank of Lincoln County.
Hue was a man who made everyone smile, and through his camera lens captured special moments in many, many lives. He will be truly missed and forever in our hearts.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023, in the chapel of Gallant–Riverview Funeral Home with the Rev. Dwight Smith officiating. Burial followed in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
