Nancy Sue Todd Obituary

Nancy Sue Todd, 79, of Petersburg, Tennessee passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023, in Lebanon, Tennessee.

She was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on June 3, 1943, to the late Ellis Howard and Adelle Martin Parker.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by infant daughter, Regina Todd; two sisters, Christine Langella and Freda King Beard; and grandson, James William Price IV.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Gerald Todd Sr.; two daughters, Cheryl (Jim) Price and Tiffany Todd; one son, Gerald (Lisa) Todd; five grandchildren, Brandon (Mahalie) Todd, Blake (Andrea) Todd, Bryson (Maicee) Simms, Bryleah (Coty) McConnell and Baylor (Madelyn) Howell; four great-grandchildren, Emma Todd, Oliver Todd, June McConnell and Oakland Simms; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Nancy was a 1961 graduate of Litton High School in Nashville, Tennessee. She never met a stranger and was a very gregarious person with a big personality. She never failed to make everyone feel welcome at her home. She knew that family was the most important thing in life.

Nancy married the love of her life, Gerald, on July 21, 1961. She was always supportive in every way to Gerald in every endeavor. When he was an electrical contractor, she would help him wire and could crawl under the houses he wired as fast, or faster than he could. She supported him when he was a fireman in Huntsville, Alabama, and later as they moved the family to Huntland, Tennessee to start a dairy farm. Finally, they moved to Fayetteville, Tennessee where together they laid roots and started G&N Milk Hauling.

Nancy was a gifted artist who loved to paint and draw. She loved her family and enjoyed hosting family events and showing her love through her cooking. She loved art, singing, fashion, golf, traveling and bird watching. Nancy loved sports and her all-time favorite team was the Vanderbilt Commodores. She was once a top salesperson for Mary Kay Cosmetics and worked at The Tigress, a fashion boutique, for many years. She was always very excited to go to market in New York and Atlanta to help purchase clothing for the store. Nancy traveled with her family to show dairy cattle with Toddsdale Farms; one of the cows was the World Champion. Nancy and Gerald loved traveling together. Their travels took them to the Bahamas, Australia, the Dominican Republic, Hawaii, California, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Vermont, New York, Florida, Las Vegas and many provinces in Canada.

Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Steve Miller officiating. Burial followed at Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens.
