Birdie Lee Johnson Obituary
Birdie Lee Johnson, 79, of the Molino Community passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Vann and the Rev. Ann Hatcher officiating. A private family interment will take place at Lebanon Cemetery at a later date.
Birdie was born on June 28, 1943, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, to the late Albert Sisk and Josephine Abbott Sisk. She was a 1961 graduate of Central High School and a member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Johnson worked 42 years for the Bank of Lincoln County and served on the Lebanon Cemetery board for more than 30 years. Birdie had excellent gardening skills and above all dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Missy (Chris) Neely; granddaughters, Lauren Neely (Jeremy) Pigg, and Lindsey Neely; great-grandchildren, Neely Pigg, Ella Pigg, Aleah Neely and Aiden Neely; brother-in-law, AC Flynt; and many special friends. In addition to her parents, Birdie was preceded in death by her husband, James “Buzz” Johnson; great-grandson, Gunner Matthew Ray Schrimsher; and a sister, Linda Sisk Flynt.
