Commissioners adopts rules, approves adding new road to county road list
During its Aug. 18 meeting, the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners adopted rules governing the legislative body, named and added a drive to the county road list, approved a rezoning request and approved calling for a public hearing at its Sept. 15 meeting to rezone a Flintville property.

Lincoln County Health Department celebrates modernization of facility
Lincoln County Health Department officials, personnel and community leaders joined the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the newly modernized health department facility with a ribbon cutting last Friday morning. The interior of the building was repainted, remodeled and updated. Both the dental office and physician’s offices were expanded.

BOMA adopts 2024 edition international codes
Public hearings adopting nine international codes from the 2018 edition to the 2024 edition were held prior to the July Board of Mayor and Aldermen’s monthly meeting. Additionally, public hearings were held to adopt the International Electrical Code, 2023 edition, and the Life Safety Code, 2024 edition. A public hearing was also held to amend the City of Fayetteville’s permit fee schedule and to approve the C-1 Zoning District update.

Patrolman Derek Jordan strives to do his best
Fayetteville Police Officer Derek Jordan, who hails from Scottsboro, Alabama, began his law enforcement career as a corrections officer. For more than four years he worked at corrections facilities with inmates and credits his experience for learning how to talk to and deal people with different backgrounds.
