TDOT reminds drivers to slow down in work areas
Lincoln County officials with the Tennessee Department of Transportation are asking drivers to “please slow down.” Officials said this is especially important when drivers see orange flashing lights on the roadway.
“We are not there to inconvenience anyone — we’re there doing a job to help keep the roads safe and maintained for everyone,” Lincoln County TDOT officials said.
Officials said in order to make the roads safer and better for the public, TDOT workers have to be in the roadway to get work done. Whether it’s patching potholes, mowing, repairing signs, clearing brush, or improving highways, the work can’t happen without crews being out there, officials said.
“At the end of the day, we want every worker and every driver to make it home safely. Please slow down, stay alert, and give crews room to work. Your patience can save a life.”
