Lincoln County High School’s STEAM Night (Science,Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) inspires the next generation of innovators in our community. STEAM Night, held Friday, April 17, was a community event open to students from kindergarten through 12 grades, families, homeschool groups and community members. Local businesses, industries, technical programs and community organizations were on hand to host interactive tables or hands-on demonstrations to showcase how STEAM connects to real-world careers; share emerging technologies and industry innovations; and provide career pathway or workforce opportunity information. — Velva Walker photo

T he Lincoln County Commission unanimously voted to accept a donation from the Friends of the Flintville Fire Rescue Foundation for a 2021 Ford F-250 crew cab truck.

The vehicle will replace a 2007 truck currently used by Flintville Fire Rescue for swift water rescue operations and medical response calls. District 7 Commissioner Glen Douglas said with this donation the Foundation has contributed a total of $47,000 to the county fire department. He added recent fundraising efforts made the purchase of the new vehicle possible.

Friends of the Flintville Fire Rescue Foundation said 2026 fundraising through the Flintville Music Festival & Fish Fry was the largest event in the festival’s history.
