Falcon Football Camp
Falcon Football Coach Eddie Cunningham welcomed more than 30 second through fifth graders to his two-day Falcon Football Camp. Campers worked in rotating groups, ensuring everyone experienced the fundamentals of running, throwing, catching, blocking, and tackling. Coach Cunningham was assisted by Falcon team members and assistant coaches.

Area youth participate in Falcon Basketball Skills Camp
Coach Dyron Birdwell recently hosted his first Falcon Basketball Skills Camp with 43 participants. Coach Birdwell was assisted by Coach Blake Ramsey and several players on the team including Braden Eakes, Brody Bryan, Austin Dickerson, Aidan Coffman, Colt Bryan, Diesen Ogle, Samuel Bryan, and Reid Bardos. Plans are for camp to be the week of Memorial Day again next year.

New turf in ‘The Pit’
Lincoln County High School's Meadows-Thompson Stadium, known as “The Pit,” is getting a full makeover. Crews from Jean’s Lawn and Garden have been removing turf and plan to replace it. They are also installing new sprinkler and drainage systems ahead of the 2026 season.

The Champions
The Champions League, a special needs baseball team, recently faced off against LC Prime, a 12-U travel team, in a spirited three-inning game at Kiwanis Park. Despite LC Prime bringing their best Banana Ball strategies, the Champions secured a decisive 13-0 victory. The event was organized by Nathan Browning of the Fayetteville Recreation Department and Coach Billy Jack Netherland, who coaches both teams. Coach Julia Townsend also assists with The Champions.

Middle School Falcons repeat as champs
After clinching the TSSAA Middle School State Baseball Championship in 2025, the Falcons returned to the winners’ circle in 2026 — a remarkable accomplishment for any program. Even more impressively, the team reached this milestone with an entirely new roster, as no players returned from the previous season.

Special Olympians
Special needs athletes from across the area gathered at the Tullahoma Special Olympics, recently held at Watkins Stadium. Coordinated with Special Olympics Tennessee Area 13, nearly 800 Olympians from Coffee, Franklin, Bedford, Moore, and Lincoln counties competed in a variety of events. Now in its 49th year, the Special Olympics continues to give both child and adult competitors the opportunity to demonstrate courage, joy, and camaraderie with their families, fellow Olympians, and the community.

Lady Falcon Softball falls short of region championship
Lincoln County softball’s win streak came to an end May 13. The Lady Falcons were defeated in a road contest for the 4A Region 3 championship.
