Tigers get homecoming win over Hornets
After competing against several higher-classifi cation teams in the first half of the season, the Fayetteville Tigers notched a 34-14 homecoming victory over Huntland on Friday night. The win evens the Tigers’ region record to 1-1.

Lincoln County High School’s Emma Bonner struck first in an intense district showdown at home against Shelbyville, finding the back of the net just before the first half hydration break. Despite the early momentum, the Lady Falcons couldn’t hold the lead and ultimately fell 2-1. They’ll look to bounce back as they travel to Franklin County on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. kickoff. Fayetteville loses in the last minute
Fayetteville suffered a tough loss to begin 1A Region 5 play last week. The Tigers lost in the final minute to the Cornersville Bulldogs, 29-35.
Falcons win third straight game
Lincoln County won their third consecutive game of the season last week. The Falcons went to Battle Creek for a mercy rule win 48-13.

Lady Falcon Softball brings excitement to the community
As the new school year is getting underway, Lady Falcon Softball Coach Cody Gaskill wrapped up a standout first season. The 2026 campaign was a Cinderella story: the Lady Falcons went 36-8-2 and reached the state tournament in Coach Gaskill’s first year. Their success brought a Lady Falcons Softball buzz to the community and inspired the coaches to host summer camps for skills, pitching, and catching in July for nearly 100 athletes.
