Wesley Van Hamlin Obituary
Wesley Van Hamlin, age 66, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, passed away on Jan. 1, 2026. He was born on Jan. 31, 1959, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, the son of the late John Mac (Sonny) Hamlin Sr. and Doris Jean Pinkstaff Hamlin. Wesley was a graduate of Central High School and spent his career as a businessman and entrepreneur, operating a maintenance and painting company. He found great joy in the outdoors through hunting and fishing, but his greatest happiness came from the time he shared with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, John Mac (Sonny) Hamlin Jr.; great-nephew, Sterling Golden; paternal grandparents, Bartley and Estelle Hamlin; and maternal grandparents, Arville and Ida Mai Pinkstaff.
Mr. Hamlin is survived by two children, Jason Hamlin and wife, Mattie of Dyersburg, Tennessee, and Lucas Hamlin of Kelso, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Lawson and Lane Hamlin, Evan and Blair Hamlin; five sisters, Cindy Davis of Fayetteville, Tennessee, Connie Rogers of Fayetteville, Tennessee, Mary Odum (Steve) of Moscow, Tennessee, Holly Potts of Rockvale, Tennessee, and Heather Brown of Indiana; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Don Burkhalter officiating. Burial will follow in Carter Hills Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday at Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.
