Franklin W. Reason Obituary

Franklin W. Reason, 81, of Wilkesboro, North Carolina, has “gone home to be with Jesus” on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025, after a battle with liver cancer. He loved God, his family, his children, and bird hunting. He taught Sunday school, led Royal Rangers, and coached Little League Baseball for many years, starting in 1970 until health issues made it difficult. He retired from LP Corporation (formerly Abitibi) after nearly 50 years, where many of his co-workers became close friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister and two nieces.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years of marriage, Margaret Reason; two sons, Kevin (Valerie) Reason of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, and Keith (Christy) Reason of Candler, North Carolina; two daughters, Angela (Rob) Gardner of Wendell, North Carolina, and Alica (Mike) Benton of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; 11 grandchildren: Kayla and Amelia Gardner, Justin (Samantha) and Jessica Reason, Maddie, Alana, Destin, and Hester Benton, Ciara and Kaden Reason; brother: William (Margaret) Reason, and his sister, Annie Maness. He leaves his family, church family and friends expecting to have them join him in heaven.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with the Rev. David England officiating.

Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Franklin W. Reason.
