Ella Claridy Obituary

Ella Mae Claridy, of Toney, Alabama, passed away on Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, at her residence.

Ella was born on Thursday, May 28, 1942, to the late Mr. William Clifton McElyea and Mrs. Ruby Jewel Whitehead McElyea in Elora, Tennessee.

She spent a majority of her life in Northern Alabama, where she was of the Catholic faith.

In Ella’s free time, she enjoyed spending time with her husband, Frank Claridy. She was an avid Alabama football Fan and enjoyed dancing at the Picking and Grinning in Ardmore. Ella was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Huntsville, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents; two brothers; Douglas McElyea and Frankie McElyea; as well as one sister, Margie Mooney.

Ella is survived by her husband, Frank Claridy of Alabama; two sons, Kenny Harbin of Decatur, Alabama, Randy Harbin of Toney, Alabama; one step-son, Michael Claridy of Toney, Alabama; one brother, Ronnie McElyea of Fayetteville, Tennessee, as well as 10 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025, in Maple Hill Cemetery, with Father Joseph P. Lubrand S.D.S. officiating.

Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home assisted the family with services.
