James Ronald Stanly Jr., beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, departed this life on Sept. 19, 2024, at the age of 53. Services to honor his life were held Monday, Sept. 23, 2024, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Graves officiating. Burial followed in Stanly Cemetery.

Ron was born Feb. 11, 1971, in Huntsville, Alabama, to the late James Ronald Stanly Sr. and Mary Ann Keel Stanly, who survives. He owned and operated Stanly Construction and specialized in working with heavy equipment. Ron enjoyed the outdoors and spending time hunting and fishing. He was a man with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Ron loved his friends, his dog Joe, and his family, especially his grandchildren, were his biggest joy. His life and love will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors also include his wife of almost 34 years, Jennifer Strope Stanly; son, Luke Stanly and wife Sara; daughter, Sarah Barton and husband Andrew; grandchildren, Oliver and Eleanor Stanly, and Banks Barton; sisters, Tracy (Andy) Davis, and Rhonda Roberts.
