Mary Meetta Gattis Sullivan Obituary
Mary Meetta Gattis Sullivan of Mulberry, Tennessee, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Lincoln Health Systems in Fayetteville, Tennessee, at the age of 88 years.
Per her request, there will be no public services.
A native of the Mulberry community, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Floy Duke Gattis.
She married J. D. Sullivan, and he also preceded her in death in 2010. Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Jack Duke Gattis, James Gattis, Billy Gattis, Robert Gattis, Linda Gattis and Marie Campbell.
Mary worked for Serbin Manufacturing for many years and then later after her so called retirement, she worked for an additional 20 years for the Exchange.
She loved cooking and especially cooking for others. She made a killer pecan pie and coconut crème pie as well as many other family favorites. Mary loved working in her garden and taking care of her great grandchildren for just as long as she was able.
Survivors include her son, Justin (Dixie) Sullivan of Mulberry; brothers, Joe Ben (Evelyn) Gattis of Fayetteville, Melvin (Mary Ann) Gattis of Howell, Tennessee; special niece, Joyce Anderson of Shelbyville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Bridget (Richie) Smith, Brandon (Farrah)Tucker, Brice (Rebekah) Sullivan; and five great-grandchildren, Rilee Smith, Reese Smith, Ty Tucker, Everett Sullivan and Graham Sullivan.
Lynchburg Funeral Home is assisting the family and is in charge of arrangements.
