Robert (Bob) M. Lindsay, 86, born July 1, 1937, passed away Oct. 28, 2023. He was the son of Inez Matlock Lindsay Rawls and John Lindsay.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Stewart Lindsay; daughters, Lissa Burton-Wingo (Howard) and Robin Kimbrough (Rickey) all from the Coldwater community; grandchildren, Brandi Burton Winsett (Chris Attkisson) of Fayetteville, Lindsay Kimbrough Thompson (Jeremy) of the Lincoln community, Chadwick Burton (Kaleena) of Meridianville, and Jon Kimbrough (Samantha) of Fayetteville; step-grandchildren, Annie Wingo Bladen (Rhett) of Toney, Alabama, and Glenn Wingo (Faith) of Tampa, Florida; his precious great-grandchildren, Grady Thompson, Eden Thompson, Will Winsett and Kayden Lyons; sister, Diane Wagster (Philip) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Kay Stewart Pittman (Carl) of Naples, Florida. Nieces, Pam Mason (Mike) of Fayetteville, Tennessee; Holley Euvarard (Marty) of Franklin, Tennessee and Lara Philips of Gulf Shores, Alabama; Stewart Pittman Sherk of Tampa, Florida, and Elizabeth Welsh (Chris) of Lake Forrest, California, and several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; stepfather, Earl Rawls; mother and father-in-law, Knox and Mary Frances Stewart: sister, Betty Lindsay Crenshaw; brother, John Thomas Lindsay; sister-in-law, Jean Dye Lindsay; nephew, Gary Lindsay; and great-nephew, Donald Lineberger.

Bob was a farmer and cattleman in the Coldwater community. After discontinuing a large hog operation, he put all his interests in raising registered Beefmasters and later Braunvieh cattle. He sold his registered cattle all over the Eastern seaboard from New York to Florida and Mississippi to Texas.

He and his wife, Janet, made many trips to Texas and Mississippi buying and selling cattle. He was a well-known cattleman and was written up in the Braunvieh World magazine. Bob was a member of the Braunvieh association of America and was Vice-President of the Southeast Braunvieh Association. He was an avid golfer and greatly enjoyed his time with friends.

He was a member of the Board of Directors of The Peoples Bank of Elk Valley from the time of its move to Fayetteville from Kelso. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #1792 and was the Exalted Ruler twice (1965-66 and 1967-68). He was also Elk of the year in 1971. Bob was affiliated with the Fayetteville Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

The family would like to thank his loyal caregivers, Denise Towry, Lissa Burton-Wingo, Robin Kimbrough, Chad Burton, Brandi Winsett, Tony Brown and especially Barbara Pearson who had been with him for the last two years.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, 2023, at Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Carter Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.
