Mary Jo Harwell Owens,84, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023, at Huntsville Hospital Lincoln Health in Fayetteville.  

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, at Higgins Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Higgins. Burial will take place at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023, at Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens.

Mary was born on Aug. 26, 1939, in Dellrose, Tennessee, to the late Rally Flournoy Harwell and Coby Alease Commons Harwell. She worked as an LPN for 52 years at Donalson Care Center, Lincoln Medical Center, and hospitals in Florida and North Carolina. Mrs. Owens was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her sons, Roger Scott Harwell, and Stan (Tasha) Harwell; grandchildren, Haley (John) Cicero, Charity (Kevin) Ring, Rebekah Harwell, and Kaylee Harwell; great-grandchildren, Ashton Marshall, Landon Ring, Lilly Ring, Wyatt Cicero, and Charlotte Cicero; sister, Martha Lynn O’Neal; and brother, Phillip (Kathy) Harwell. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Owens Sr.; and brothers, Bobby Ray Harwell, Dwight Harwell, and Douglas Harwell.
