Aubrey Wilson Smith Jr., 76, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, Aug. 10, 2023, at his residence.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2023, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Caleb Bell officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Aubrey was born on Jan. 18, 1947, in Lansing, Michigan, to the late Aubrey Wilson Smith and Pauline Hately Smith. He was a member of the Fayetteville First Baptist Church and an ordained deacon, and he served in the US Army Reserves. Mr. Smith enjoyed woodworking, gardening, bird watching and had an eye for photography. He had a caring heart for animals, including his cats, dogs, and goats.

On Nov. 23, 1968, Aubrey married the love of his life, Karon Marshall Smith. To their union, they had two children, Jason (Erika) Smith of Coppell, Texas and Andrea (Bradly) Evans of Fayetteville, Tennessee; and grandchildren, Addison Evans, and Cheyenne Evans. Additional survivors include his sister, Teresa (Al) Mitchell; and a brother, Carey (Darla) Smith.
