Jimmy Franklin “Pop” Davis Obituary

Jimmy Franklin “Pop” Davis, 77, of Fayetteville, passed away Saturday, Aug. 5, 2023, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

He was born in Lewisburg, Tennessee, on June 5, 1946, to the late Earl Moses Davis and Virginia Ruth Blackwell Davis. Jimmy served in the National Guard and was a former electrician for Blalock Electrical in Lewisburg. He enjoyed attending the harness races at the Lincoln County Fair and was an avid attendee each year.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Brad Davis; brother, Charlie Davis; and grandson Zach.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Judy Lynn Davis; children, Jim Davis, Chucky Davis, Dee McElyea and John (Tina) Edwards; grandchildren, Heather, Magan, Kelsey, Ethan, Ashlyn, Breanna, Timmy, Riley, Toddy and MacKenzie; several great-grandchildren; sister, Sherry McKnight; brother, Barney Davis; sister-in-law: Gail Davis; close friends, David Haislip, Roger Daniel and Larry Grubbs; special neighbor, Fred Boyd; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Thursday, Aug. 10, 2023, at Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.
