Sherry Lynn Pitts Noblitt, 68. of Lynchburg, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023, at Stonecrest Medical Center in Smyrna. 

She was born Sept. 25, 1954, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, to the late William “Bill” and Maggie Louise (Sisk) Pitts Jr.

Before her retirement, she had worked as a caretaker with the elderly. In her spare time, Sherry enjoyed painting, gardening, fishing, and spending time with her pets. But most of all, she loved the time spent caring for her family and friends.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William “Billy” Pitts III, and sister, Peggy Sisk Custer. 

Sherry is survived by her loving children, John “Johnathan” (Crystal) Smith of Lynchburg, and Jeremy (Corie) Smith of Estill Springs; grandchildren, Alexandra Lynn Smith, Deborah Jean Smith, William Jochem Smith, Chaney Lee Smith, Dixie Quinn Smith, Phebe Matthews, and Sawyer Matthews; brother, Joel Wilson Pitts of Kelso; nieces and nephews, Daniel Pitts, Danielle Pitts, and Josh Pitts; and special friend, Frank Noblitt. 

A memorial service was held Friday, July 7, 2023, in the chapel of Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Lynchburg.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Moore County Friends of Animals, 1980 Fayetteville Hwy, Lynchburg, TN 37352. Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
