Lillian Gertrude Quick, 84, of Taft, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023, at her residence.

She was born in Madison County, Alabama, on Aug. 27, 1938, to the late Shelby and Lila Pogue Bates. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Rozell and two brothers, Roy Bates and Thomas Bates.

Mrs. Quick is survived by her husband, Elton Quick; two daughters, Rhonda Morrow and Lesa Barnett; one son, Mark (Kerry) Quick; four sisters, Alice Smith, Dora (Jerry) Warren, Jenell (Jimmy) Tucker and Claudia Moran; five brothers, Paul Bates, Sonny Bates, Jimmy (Renate) Bates, David Bates and Jeff (Patty Lou) Bates; five grandchildren, Scott (Jamie) Barnett, Kelley O’Brien, Megan (Joe) Spurlock, Makenzie Brazelton and Zoey Draper and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Sister Jenell Tucker, Claudia Moran and Kelley O’Brien officiating. Burial will follow at Stateline Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.
