Don Christopher ‘Country’ Counts, 67, of Flintville, Tennessee, passed away Monday, May 22, 2023, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 19, 1955, in Fayetteville, Tennessee. He retired from Arnold Engineering Development Complex. He was a musician who played with Dr. Mojo and Monkey Business bands, and he played drums with the praise band at Fayetteville First Baptist Church. He enjoyed camping, boating and was a fix-it-all guy.

Mr. Counts is preceded in death by his father, Donald Anderson Counts and brother, Tim Counts.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Diane Sanders Counts; sons, Christopher Robert Counts (Nina) and Donald Christopher Counts (Casey); grandchildren, Cheyanne Rebecca Counts, Christian Marshall Counts and Kopelyn Shea Counts; great-grandchild, Reese Walker Counts; mother, Linda Lou Copeland Counts; sisters, Donna Thomas (Ronnie) and Deanna Lindsey; brothers, Steve Counts (Denise), Lonnie Counts (Libby) and Cary Counts; sister-in-law, Mary Kay Counts; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 25, 2023, at the Fayetteville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Pierson and Dr. Jon Hathcock officiating. Burial followed in Flintville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fayetteville First Baptist Church Benevolent Fund.
