Doris Jean Koonce, 82, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, at Elk River Health and Nursing Center.

She was born July 6, 1940, daughter of the late Herschel Cannon and Maggie Gipson Cannon. She worked in housekeeping for Lincoln Care Center and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Ray Koonce; and sister, Billie Faye McBride.

She is survived by her sisters, Jocelyn (Robert) Roland, Debby (Daryle) Lopes, Cathy (Johnny) Maddox, and Pam (Neal) Doud, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with the Rev. Chester Slayton officiating.
