‘They Promised Her the Moon’ begins May 14

Carriage House Players will present “They Promised Her the Moon” at 7 p.m. on May 14, 15, 16 and May 21, 22 and 23 at 7 p.m. at the Lincoln County Museum Theatre.
The play is about Jerrie Cobb, the first American woman to test for space flight. Her memories unfold before her, from learning to fly a plane as a child in Oklahoma, to testifying in congressional hearings about the under-the-radar all-female Mercury 13 space program. “They Promised Her the Moon” is a compelling drama about the challenges of sisterhood and fighting for the greater good, based on a true story.
The play was written by Laurel Ollstein, directed by Lisa Adams and assisted by Vanessia Steelman. Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for students. To purchase tickets text or call 931-4331300. The Lincoln County Museum Theatre is located at 521 Main Avenue South.
