Morris Perry Langston Obituary

Morris Perry Langston, 87, passed away Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, peacefully at his home.

He was born Oct. 24, 1935, in Huntsville, Alabama, and has lived in Fayetteville, Tennessee, since 1973. He graduated from Butler High School in 1955 where he played football and ran track. He worked for South Central Bell for 30 years. After retirement from South Central Bell, he owned and operated A-1 Mini Storage and A-1 Fast Lube in Huntsville, Alabama. In his spare time, he enjoyed farming, gardening, traveling, blue grass music, and playing the dulcimer.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Norma Jean Campbell Langston; daughters, Donna Leonard (Renny) and Karen Blalock (Collier); three grandchildren, Rachel Wierenga (Aaron), Carson Blalock (Courtney) and Benjamin Langston Blalock; five great-grandchildren: Ruth Wierenga, Marie Wierenga, Maxie Blalock, Harlyn Blalock and Perry Blalock; four brothers and sisters, Cornelia Libisch, Peggy McNutt, Roger Langston, and Frances McFall. Perry is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Franklin and Effie Elizabeth Langston; sister, Virginia Mills; and brothers, James Richard Langston and Joe Langston.

Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, at Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in Fayetteville, Tennessee, with the Rev. Mike Johnson officiating. Burial followed in Carter Hills Cemetery in Coldwater, Tennessee.
