Linda Faye Brown Gowan, 81, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away Monday, Oct. 16, 2024.  

A graveside service was held Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023, at Booneville Cemetery with Bro. Jeff Collet officiating. There was no visitation prior to the service.

Faye was born Dec. 12, 1941, in Moore County, Tennessee, to the late Farris William and Lurlene Goosby Brown. She retired from Jack Daniels Distillery as a bottler and farmed with her husband for many years. Faye was an excellent cook, a wonderful and supportive friend, and one of the kindest people you would ever meet. She enjoyed shopping and eating out, and her faith was extremely important to her. Faye worshipped at Booneville Church of Christ for many, many years. Perhaps her most loved role was that of “Granny Faye” to her “grands.”

Survivors include her life-long friends and family of choice, Mike and Sandra Thomas, Betsy Thomas; granddaughters, Kalli and Vada; special friend, Scott Ulm; and her beloved cat, Flufffy. In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram Cowden Gowan; and brother, William Ray “Bud” Brown.
