Charles Lester Clark, age 87, of Taft, Tennessee, passed away on Dec. 30, 2023, at Donalson Care Center in Fayetteville.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Berry officiating. Burial followed in Higgins Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens.

Charles was born on Nov. 20, 1936, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, to the late Ruben Lester Clark and Hazel Wynn O’Neal Clark. Mr. Clark was a 1954 graduate of Boonshill High School and a member of the New Grove Baptist Church. Charles was a skilled cabinet maker, owning and operating Clark Cabinet Shop. For fun, Mr. Clark was an avid bowler. He was the 1969 Alabama Bowling Scratch Champion and was inducted into the Alabama State Bowling Hall of Fame.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Peggy Neece Clark; daughter, Shirley Turpen and her husband Don of Fayetteville; grandson, Tim Turpen and his wife Heather of West Palm Beach, Florida; great-granddaughter, Lena Turpen; nephew and friend, Mike O’Neal and his wife Bonnie; and several additional nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
