Mason Alexander Roland Obituary
Mason Alexander Roland, 18, born on Oct. 17, 2005 in Fayetteville, Tennessee, left this world far too soon on Dec. 29, 2023. His passing has left a void that can never be filled and has shattered the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his uncle, Johnathan “Bubba” Roland; great-grandparents, Irene and Mason Roland; great-grandmother, Louise S. Taylor; great-grandfather, Harry Cowan and great-grandfather, Ed Kilburn. He was an employee of FedEx.
Mason is survived by his loving father, Anthony Wade (Holly) Taylor; devoted mother, Jennifer Dawn Roland (Corey Wiser); cherished sisters, Mikayla Arbour, Scarlett West and Cailyn Curatola; adored brothers, Jacob Curatola and Jayden Taylor; beloved grandparents, Randy and Dorothy Taylor, Johnny and Karen Roland, Thelma Roland and Robert Davis; great-grandmother, Nancy Jean Cowan; special friend: Ava Allison; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends whose lives he touched with his infectious spirit.
As a senior in high school with dreams of studying at TCAT to become a welder — Mason was full of promise. He was known for being an exceptional hugger who had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel loved. From the moment he entered this world until his last breath, Mason marched to the beat of his own drum. His magnetic personality meant that he never met a stranger, always greeting them with open arms and leaving behind smiles wherever he went.
His heart was made of pure gold — overflowing with love for those around him. Known for being goofy yet affectionate, Mason’s laughter could light up any room. He found joy in playing video games, or spending time at the river while hanging out with friends, or teasing his siblings brought him immense happiness. The loss of such an extraordinary soul has left an indescribable pain within our hearts but we find solace knowing that Mason’s memory will live on through each life he touched during his short time here on earth. Mason may no longer walk among us physically but his spirit remains alive within every person who had the privilege to know him. We take comfort knowing that he is now watching over us from above — forever guiding us with love from beyond.
Funeral services were Friday, Jan. 5, 2024, in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddie Graves officiating. Burial followed in Lebanon Cemetery.
