Thomas Alexander Taylor, 87, of Fayetteville, Tennessee passed away Feb. 4. 2024, at Covenant Manor Assisted Living in Fayetteville.

A graveside service was held Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024, at Riverview Memorial Gardens with Chad Hancock and Donnie Browning officiating.

Thomas was born Oct. 13, 1936, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, to the late Roy Tillman and Bessie Benson Taylor. Thomas was a kind-hearted man who loved working with his hands. He was a skilled handyman, always fixing something, and worked at Walmart as a display assembler. Thomas was a member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church. Previously he was a deacon and worked in the bus ministry at West End Baptist Church for many years.

Survivors include his sister, Avis Mitchell; niece and caregiver, Shelia Simms; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Mae Simmons Taylor; daughter, Angelia Renee Taylor; brothers and sisters, J.D. Taylor, Syrenia Norman, Rosa Lee Steele, Grover Bennett, Ruth Ramsey, Virginia Simms, Carl Taylor, James Taylor, Vernon Taylor, Roy Taylor Jr., Harold Dean Taylor, Robert Earl Taylor, and Joe Donald Taylor.
