Jimmie C. Bowman Obituary
Jimmie C. Bowman, 75 of Belvidere, passed away peacefully in his home on April 24, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 53 years, Mary J. “Jackie Bowman;” his parents, James Clarence (JC) Bowman and Edna Widner Bowman; sister Martha (Charles) Powell; and nephew, Robert Powell.
Jimmie is survived by his daughter, Cassie Gulley of Belvidere; sons, Doug Bowman of Fayetteville, Bill Bowman (Marie) of Estill Springs, Dan Tice (Karen) of Winchester; six grandchildren, Blake Bowman, Patrick Tice, Kelsi Murphy, Autumn Bowman, Austin Howton, and Harley Gulley; three great-grandchildren, Skyla, Evin, and Hayden Bowman. Jimmie is also survived by his sister, Judy (Lester) Bradford, and nieces Robin (Mike) Keith, Gloria (David) Holding, and Laura Fulmer.
Jimmie, Jackie and their children moved to the Franklin County area in the late 1970s where Jimmie was employed by Amana/Goodman until he retired in 2014. Jimmie was the patient, wise, and loving leader of his family, and could always be counted upon to help family, friends, and neighbors alike. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and relished the opportunity to introduce young people to deer hunting in particular. He greatly loved his farm animals and caring for them. In recent years, Jimmie and Jackie enjoyed time with family, who affectionately referred to them as “Granny Jack and Papaw Jim.” They treasured their extended family and all their friends who were like family to them.
The family plans to have a small private memorial service at a later date. Memorial gifts may be shared with the Tennessee Wildlife Federation.
Lynchburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
