Delma Mollie Somers Sumja, 75, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away Oct. 31, 2024, at HH Lincoln Health in Fayetteville, Tennessee.

The family said it is with regret they announce her passing.

Del was born July 20, 1949, in Winnipeg, Canada. She was a legal assistant at Harris Cadell and Shanks in Decatur, Alabama, and a member of St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church. Del loved to work on the farm and in her garden, and she cherished her role as “Nonnie” to her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of almost 56 years, Roy Sumja; son, Timothy Sumja and wife Maury; daughter, Jennifer Gray and husband Scott; grandchildren, Ava Sumja, Bo, Hunter, and Camden Howard, and Brandon, Joel, Karli, and Kyndel Gray; and sisters, Sharon (Bruce) Robertson and Leslie (Ed) White. Mrs. Sumja was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Mollie Somers; and a sister, Valda Mosko.

The family will host a memorial service at a later date.
