Jessie Brown Obituary
Jessie Brown, born Jan. 3, 1965, in Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, Dec. 6, 2024. Jessie was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandparent and friend. She was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and found joy and purpose in her caregiving and sewing, both of which allowed her to touch the lives of many. Jessie was known for her kind heart and she loved helping others whenever she could. She would do anything for her children and grandchildren, always putting their needs above her own.
Jessie was the proud mother of three children, Ithan, Romel (Lindsey), and Damico, who were the light of her life. She also welcomed a bonus child, Romeo Brown, with open arms.
Jessie was also the cherished grandmother of Rowan, Rylan, Raelynn, Zoey, Talin and Aiden, who brought her immeasurable joy and pride.
She was the daughter of the late Joan McDonald Tate and Fred T. McDonald.
Jessie was married to Rodney Brown, with whom she shared many years of love and companionship.
Jessie was a loving sister to 16 siblings, Connie Matthews, Fred Jr. (Melody) McDonald, Melvin (Wanda) McDonald, Jean Sanford, Marie (Vincent) Thomison, Otis McDonald, Mimi (Ross) Bryson, Love (Toriano) Brown, Roslyn (Randy) Reese, Renae (Kent) Buchanan, and was predeceased by Maryann Henderson, Elaine McDonald, Michael McDonal , Jeff McDonald, Rena McDonald and Rita McDonald.
Jessie’s loving nature, strong spirit, and talent for caregiving made her a true pillar of strength for her family and community. She will be remembered not only for her nurturing heart but also for the deep joy she found in the simple pleasures of life — sewing, caring for others, and being surrounded by her loved ones.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing her.
Services were held Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 308 W. Maple Street in Fayetteville.
