Charles Lewis Smartt, 84, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025. He was born in Lincoln County, Tennessee, on Sept. 10, 1940, to the late Marvin and Mildred Smartt. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Fitch Smartt and one grandson, Scott Smartt. Mr. Smartt drove a truck for Amana, was a police officer, and retired from the Lincoln County Sherriff’s Department as a Deputy Sherriff in 2002.

Mr. Smartt is survived by his special companion, Sarah Castile; one daughter, Janet Smartt; two sons, Jeff (Rhonda) Smartt and Greg (Lynn) Smartt; nine grandchildren, Whitney Smartt, Madison Smartt, Jason Smartt, Daniel (Chelsea) Smartt, Chris (Bridget) Posey, Brandon (Tonya) Posey, Trent Smartt, Dalton (Shana) Smartt and Jordan Smartt, and numerous great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Friday, Jan. 3, 2025, at Prospect Cemetery with Bro. Kevin Davis officiating.
