Othal B “Jenky” Ford Obituary
Mr. Othal B “Jenky” Ford was born on Aug. 27, 1947, to the union of the late Rev. Cleveland and Texas Ford of Huntsville, Alabama. Othal “Jenky” was raised in a Christian home and was taught to love God and Jesus Christ at an early age.
Othal (Jenky) attended St. Ruth and Mt. Lebanon Council Training High School of Huntsville, Alabama. He was self-employed as a brick mason until he retired in 2019. Jenky had many hobbies; his Good Times House and grilling where a lot of people came to gather and eat. He loved good music, especially his Blues, dancing, and just having a good time with people. He was known for his infectious smile and his compassionate humor was contagious to everyone he met. He was loved by all who knew him. He thoroughly enjoyed his life to the fullest. He departed this life peacefully on April 6, 2025, at the age of 77.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sue Ford.
Jenky leaves, to cherish his memory, his daughters, Denise Baize of Clarksville, Tennessee, MaShomea Anderson of Huntsville, Alabama, Shelia Kent of Huntsville, Alabama, and Tammie Dangerfield of Fayetteville, Tennessee; sons: Fred Ford and Orlando Ford of North Carolina, and Jonathan Dangerfield, Lance Hicks and Lamar Hicks of Fayetteville, Tennessee; one sister, Mildred Bone (Charles) of Huntsville, Alabama; one brother, Mack Ford (Ruby) of New Market, Alabama; 16 grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jean (Lewis) Owens, Connie (William) Buchanan and Denise (Henry) Buchanan; brothers-in-law, John T. (Melody) Hicks, Arthur Hicks and Joel Hicks; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends and devoted friend, William Johnson.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Pastor Don Adams officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant View Cemetery.
