Mattie Louise Honey, 97, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Elk River Healthcare. She was born in Lincoln County, Tennessee, on July 18, 1927, to the late Clifford Frank and Flara Hawkins Koonce. She worked at Serbin and was a member of Howell First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Madison Honey; one daughter, Marie Caldwell; one son, David Honey; one son-in-law, Ricky Anderson; one sister, Muriel Koonce; and two brothers, Billy Joe Koonce and Frank Koonce.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Honey (Mark Guilbeau) of Griffin, Georgia, and Sue Anderson of Fayetteville, Tennessee; one son, Donny Honey of Flintville, Tennessee; one son-in-law, Dennis Caldwell; eight grandchildren, Shane Cantrell (Donna), Shawn Honey, Kim Vaughn (Daniel), Brian West, Jennifer Simmons (Stephen), Alison Wright (Jeff), Allie Honey and Christy Pollitz (Marcus); 21 great-grandchildren, Marco Cantrell, Brock Pollitz, Paxton Pollitz, Piper Higgs, Morgan Spray (Ty), Kennedy Honey, Garrett Honey, Abby Honey, Olivia Honey, Madison Fullerton (Luke), Katlyn Maddox (Dekota), Faith Montgomery, Paige Montgomery, Catie Simmons, Matt Vaughn, Colton Vaughn, Zadie Vaughn, Luke Vaughn, Clay Vaughn, Gigi Wright and Mattie Wright; and four great-great-grandchildren: Carson Cantrell, Marianna Cantrell, Amelia Gurien and Sawyer Fullerton.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Howell First Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Gass and Gil Harding officiating. Burial followed in Rowland Hills Cemetery.
