Lurlie Jean Henderson Obituary

Lurlie Jean Henderson, 69, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, was called home on Thursday, July 24, 2025, leaving behind a life well-lived and a legacy that cannot be measured in words alone. She was born in Lincoln County, Tennessee, on July 7, 1956, to the late B.H. and Alma Sue Fowler Henderson. She graduated from Central High School in 1974. Lurlie was a member of Neal’s Temple C.P. Church in America where she served as an usher. She was a true soldier for the Lord. Lurlie retired from Goodman/Daikin Manufacturing after 43 years of service. She had a strong work ethic and loved her family and friends. She was the rock of her family. Watching TV, listening to music and dancing were some of her favorite things to do. Lurlie was a die-hard Los Angeles Lakers Basketball fan and one of her favorite sayings was “Can’t fool me, I’m old school.” Her family meant the world to her, and she went above and beyond to ensure their happiness and success.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Michael, Tony and Reginald Henderson; sisters, Emma Bailey and Birdie Watkins; and niece, Melissa Hayes.

She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Fonda (Richie) Henderson; son/nephew, Fred (Aisha) Henderson; granddaughters, Nautica Dangerfield and Na’Kiya Henderson, who filled her heart with boundless love; sister, Shirley Henderson; brother, Antonio Henderson; sister-in-law, Sheila Henderson; nieces and nephews, Tonetta (James) Weaver, Deborah Henderson, Fonda (Michael) Luckett, Jeremy Henderson, Kasheena Henderson, Tonesha (Marcus) Seay and Kashunda Henderson; great-nieces and great-nephews: Jaz’min Weaver, Jalen Weaver, Nakida Archibold, Micah Luckett, Moriah Luckett, Myles Luckett, Addison Henderson, Jayceon Henderson, Layceon Henderson, Kashi’A Henderson-Corn, Ka’Miah Eddings, Londyn Henderson, Keeasia Henderson, Za’lin Henderson, Zaleigha Seay, Aniyas Seay, William Hayes, Jamar Hayes, Kassidy Woodard and T.J. Woodard; devoted cousins and friends, Jo Ann Henderson, Charlene Henderson, Loretta Allen, Virgie Edmiston, Candy Tate, Lyguyia Vance, Valarie Henderson, Angela Glover, Thelma Hadley, Mimi Johnson, Wayne Dyer, Mary Wilson, Vickie Travis, Christy Sneid, Alma Colvin and Doris Honea; and many other relatives and friends.

Homegoing services were held Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025, in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home. Burial followed in Antioch Cemetery.
