Brenda Fay Smith, 74, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born on Jan. 15, 1951, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Odie and Nellie Taylor Coats. She was a devoted member of the Church of God faith.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Dwight Coats.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, G.T. Smith; sons, Carey (Gisela) Smith and Scotty Smith; grandchildren, Tyler (Shelby) Smith, Ashley (Eric) Smith, Celica (A.J.) Mitchell, Noah Smith, Alex Allar and Kerri Laray Smith; great-grandchildren, Zeke Mitchell, Opie Mitchell, Ace Mitchell, Marley Elliott, Lane Elliott and Jayden Hasting; sisters, Sandra Kennemer (Gerry) Satterfield, Kala Gardner, Donna (Larry) Ashley and Debbie (Rodney) Bell; brothers, Aaron (Janice) Coats and Alton (Melba) Coats; and special friend, Jennifer Sullivan.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Stoney Luna, the Rev. Billy Moore and the Rev. Sonny Moore officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery.
