Deanndria “Tweety” March Obituary

Deanndria “Tweety” March, 49, transitioned from this life on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center. She was born on July 22, 1976, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, to the late Rickie Ricardo March and Gwendolyn Ruth March. She also loved her second dad, James Ed Askins Jr.

She was baptized at Hope Community Church in Huntsville, Alabama. She was a joyful, loving person who cared deeply for her family. She shared a special bond with her grandmother, Minnie Ruth Hedgspeth, and was always cheerful and kind to her family, friends, and all of their children. After graduating from high school, she worked as a substitute teacher and later began babysitting. She had a true love for children, as well as for her neighbors and friends. Following a major surgery to remove a large cyst, she became homebound. The procedure left the nerves in her entire left leg damaged, a hardship she bravely lived with for more than three years. Even through her challenges, she continued to find strength in the visits and support of her family, friends, and neighbors. She was dearly loved by all of her family and friends, and she will be deeply missed.

She leaves behind her mother and stepfather, Gwen and James Ed Askins; sister, Erissia Dequann Nolan (Trey); brother, Kelvin Wooten Jr; step-brothers, Edward Marquis Askins, Terae Askins, Desean Askins; nephews, Christian Johnson, Isaha Wooten and Josiah Nolan; niece, Destini McCool; great-niece, Paris Baby; uncles, William Kenneth Hedgspeth (Glenda), Quentin Hedgspeth (Jennifer), Harold Fowler (Mary), Joe Kenneth March, Michael March (Rita), Howard Tyrone March, and Larry Edmiston; aunts, Mary Alice Fowler (Harold), Wanda Rowe (Travis), Pam Massey (Deon), Farley Edmiston, Linda Edmiston and Glenda Hedgspeth (William Kenneth); close cousins and long-time friends, Necole March, Sonya March, Vickie March, Keawama Howard, Stephanie Brown, Amber Owens and children, Mercedes Hedgspeth, Ina Draper, Linda Henderson, Theresa Bonner and children, Teari Moorehead, Miechael Mooreehad, Jackie Lacey, Mr. Marvin Moore, Mandy Wilson, Keisha Blair; and “extra aunts,” Claudia Askins, Gail McWilliams, Barbara Askins, and Nita Shelton.

Homegoing services were conducted on Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with eulogy by the Rev. Michael Mastin.

Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Deanndria “Tweety” March.
