Alice Marie Garrett, 86, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at her residence. She was born in Marshall County, Tennessee, on Oct. 5, 1939, to the late Emmett C. and Clara Casteel Woodard. Alice was a longtime employee of Huntsville Hospital, where she worked for 52 years. She was also a member of the Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband: Joel Thomas Garrett Sr.; son, Joel Thomas Garrett Jr.; brothers, Jerry Woodard and James Alton Woodard; and sister, Wilma Sanders.

She is survived by her daughter, Joan (Rick) Pressnell; son, Alan (Tammy) Garrett; daughter-in-love, Julie Garrett; grandchildren, Andy (Dawn) Pressnell, Emily Pressnell, Lura (Justin) Black, Jaylan Garrett and Sharon Garrett; great-grandchildren, Mason Black and Avery Black; sisters, Louise Massey and Shirley (Tommy) Bledsoe; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 14, 2026, in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Van Massey officiating. Burial followed in Talley Cemetery.
