Strong to Severe Thunderstorms Possible Tonight

A cluster or line of thunderstorms will develop ahead of a cold front moving eastward into the region late tonight and into Thursday morning. Depending on the position of the cold front, some additional thunderstorms may develop later in the day Thursday. Conditions remain favorable for some strong to marginally severe storms, with the potential for wind gusts around 40-50 MPH. A few severe storms may briefly produce wind gusts near 60 MPH. Total rainfall amounts up to an inch are possible, with perhaps some locally higher amounts. The threat of localized flash flooding is low, although some ponding of water on roads and in low lying areas is possible.
