Fayetteville High School’s Tigers split in action last week. Friday, they defeated Mt. Pleasant at home on Senior Night, 55-40, after going down to Eagleville on the road, 57-52.

The game with the Eagles was a battle going down to the wire. With 56 seconds remaining in the game, the Tigers were up 52-51, but the possessions went in favor of Eagleville. Class A Mr. Basketball finalist Kyle McClaran finished the night with 27 points, going 15 of 15 from the line for the Eagles.

Against Mt. Pleasant, it was Senior Night honoring D’Marcus Pullen, Tyler Wolaver, DeMarkus Franklin, Demetrius Shaw, Jacious Clark, Eli Dotson, Carter Hill, Seth Moyers (Victor E) and Matthew Giffin (videographer).

Fayetteville wraps up its regular season with an overall 21-4 record. Going into the District 8-A Tournament, Eagleville finished as the top seed, followed by Fayetteville, Moore County, Cascade, Huntland and Cornersville. The Tigers take on the winner of Moore County and Cornersville on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Huntland is the host school, and admission is $6.
