Fayetteville High School’s Tigers improved their record to 9-0 after a Thursday 41-14 Senior Night win over Whitwell.

The game was moved from Friday due to the threat of rain.

But, the celebration of a Region 5-1A Championship and undefeated season in the works was crushed with word of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) ruling late Friday that the Tigers had played an ineligible player during the season.

FHS has an appeal scheduled this week.
