High school volleyball
Lincoln County High School’s Lady Falcon volleyball season came to an end in the first round of Region 4-AAA tournament action, going down to Siegel, 0-3.
The ladies earned a spot in the tournament, finishing as runner-up in the District 8-AAA tournament.
Against the Lady Stars, LCHS kept it close in the first game, going down, 18-25, but from that point, Siegel dominated with scores of 10-25, 1-25.
In the second game of the tournament, Coffee County, the district winner, was swept by Blackman, 0-3. In the championship game, Siegel captured their seventh consecutive region title, defeating Blackman.
Two from the Lady Falcons’ team received the All-Region honors. They are Peyton Jones and Millie Slayton.
RCA’s Lady Knights’ volleyball team finished on top of Enrichment Fellowship, 3-0, on Senior Night.
High school soccer
Lincoln County High School’s Lady Falcon soccer season came to an end in a heartbreaker, going down at Franklin County, 2-3, in District 8-AAA tournament action.
After a scoreless first half, the Lady Rebels were first to find the net with 34 minutes on the clock in the second half.
At the 70th minute, the ladies answered with a goal from Jordan Cox, assisted by Emma Womble.
With five minutes remaining in the game, the Lady Falcons took the lead, 2-1, with a goal from Lauren Buntley, assisted again by Womble.
But, the advantage would be short lived – Franklin County scored two goals in the final three minutes to finish with the win.
The ladies finished with five shots on goal. Keeper Adriana Castillo had five saves.
Franklin County went on to defeat Coffee County, 1-0, in the championship.
Seven from the Lady Falcons’ team received All-District honors: Emma Womble, Midfielder of the Year; Jordan Cox, first team; Lauren Bentley, first team; Tessa Lewis, first team; Trenedy Parks, second team; Adriana Castillo, second team; and Makenna Morris, second team.
