High school volleyball

FHS Lady Tigers split in action last week, winning over Enrichment Fellowship Tuesday. Varsity won 3-0 by scores of 25-17, 25-16, 25-22. JV, 2-0, by scores of 25-22, 25-20.

Thursday, the ladies went down to Eagleville. Varsity lost, 0-3, by scores of 16-25, 18-25, 21-25; JV, 1-2, by scores of 25-12, 22-25, 6-15. This week, the ladies host Marshall County on Monday before Community comes to town on Thursday. JV starts at 5:30 p.m., varsity at 6:30 p.m.

The Lady Falcons picked up a pair of district wins last week, sweeping Franklin County Tuesday on the road. Varsity won 3-0, by scores of 25-16, 25-22 and 25-9; JV, 2-0, by scores of 25-5, 25-14. Thursday, the ladies swept Columbia at home. Varsity won 3-0, by scores of 25-20, 25-10, 25-16; JV, 25-11, 25-14. Earlier, the ladies finished third out of a field of 15 teams in the John Overton Bobcat Classic. This week, the ladies travel to Coffee County on Tuesday, then on to Hazel Green on Thursday. JV starts at 5:30 p.m., varsity at 6:30 p.m.

 

High school soccer

The Lady Falcons finished tied at 3-3 on the road at Coffee County in a two weather delay match-up. Emma Womble scored at the 29-minute mark with an assist from Jordan Cox. Tessa Lewis scored at 42 minutes with an assist from Jordan Cox. Makenna Morris scored on a free kick 74 minutes into the game. Keeper Adriana Castillo had six saves. This week, the ladies host Shelbyville on Thursday starting at 6:30 p.m.

The Lady Tigers’ game on Tuesday with Cornersville was postponed due to weather. This week, the ladies travel to Lawrence County on Thursday starting at 6 p.m.

 

High school golf

The Falcons finished in the middle in action last week against the Wildcats and Lions. Lawrenceburg, 163; Lincoln County, 182; Columbia, 215. Ben Bassham, 40; Clay Gentry, 42; Andy Neal, 48; Coby McCoy, 52. This week, the Falcons host Shelbyville on Tuesday at Pebble Creek. Tee time is 4 p.m.

Fayetteville High School’s match at Moore County last week was postponed due to weather. This week, the Tigers host Richland on Monday. Tee time is at 3:30 p.m.
