The Middle Tennessee Crappie Club (MTCC) fished beautiful Tim’s Ford Lake from the Devil’s Step ramp on Saturday, Oct. 19.

“We blasted off at 7 a.m. and began our weigh-in at 2 p.m. there in the parking lot,” said Toby Ivey. “We had a total of 17 boats fish this day, and the weather was cloudy most all day long but the rain held off until late in the day, which allowed our teams to find and catch more fish.

“We had 16 of 17 boats bring in fish to weigh at this event, nine of which caught seven-fish limits to weigh in. With 17 boats fishing, we recognized our top four places plus the big fish pot winner.”

Six of the nine recognized as winning were from Lincoln County.

Taking first place with the seven-fish limit was the team of John Wells Tracy Farmer, both of Lincoln County, with 9.02 pounds.

Taking second place with the seven-fish limit was the team Larry Britton and Robert Baker, also of Lincoln County, with 8.85 pounds. In third with the seven-fish limit was Joey Davis of Franklin County with 8.49 pounds, and taking fourth was the team Myron Croft and Randy Taylor of Lincoln County with 8.29 pounds.

Taking the big fish pot was Randy Clark of Coffee County with the tournament’s biggest fish at 1.95 pounds.

MTCC will move on to fish Normandy in two tournaments in November. The regular monthly tournament will be held Nov. 23, followed by another Nov. 29, the day after Thanksgiving.

“If you had rather fish than shop, come on out and join MTCC and fish with us,” Ivey said, adding that memberships are only $25 per family. For more information about the club, you can visit
